86Fest 2012 was the 1st annual Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S and Toyota AE86 event of its kind in North America! Held at the Auto Club Speedway in sunny Ontario, CA. the weather was hot and the crowd was ready for some fun!
The fun included a full on track day, auto cross, car show, vendors, raffles and even a drift session from professional Formula drifter Ken Gushi in his GReddy Scion FR-S!
We wouldn’t be there without this little car, the Toyota AE86! It started it all back in the 80’s and with the rebirth of the lightweight fun to drive sports car by Subaru and Scion/Toyota, the heritage lives on.
There were definitely more Scion FR-S than Subaru BRZ, but we attended with our BRZ. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our car and the website!
Several modified cars made their first appearance at the show including this matte blue wrapped bagged Scion FR-S on Rotiform wheels!
Vendors like GReddy, Cusco, Flossy, Motul, Stillen, AVO Turboworld, OEM Audio Plus and more were all in attendance sharing their latest products for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.
The organizers of 86Fest got their hands on dozens of Formula Drift Irwindale tickets, which was the following weekend, they passed them out to anybody who had a FR-S or BRZ key! We couldn’t make it to Formula Drift, so we ended up giving the ticket away to one of our forum members!
Here is a shot from the auto cross, an AE86 and BRZ on the track at the same time!
Unfortunately the event had to end, but next year will definitely be bigger and better.
