Subaru Parts Cost & Warranty Validity

    Hi,

I am planning on getting a BRZ and i need information on a couple of things:

    1. I have been told that Subaru parts and service cost can be quite expensive. Can anyone give me an idea of what the costs are like? And most importantly how does it compare with the service costs of Toyota (We don't have Scion in the UAE).

    2. Does fitting on a catback exhaust and/or an aftermarket air intake void the vehicles warranty?

    Thanks!!

    Hey murcielago12

    Welcome to the forum!

Pricing will vary from Subaru to Toyota. I am not sure what kind of service costs you are looking for with a brand new car. Oil change will be the same across the board as for most maintenance, but you'll find the difference in major repairs.

A cat back and intake should not void warranty, but it definitely depends on your local dealer and if they care or not. If you know they will care and you had to take the car in for something, then putting the car back to stock would be pretty easy with just a cat back and intake.

    Hope that helps!

Re: Subaru Parts Cost & Warranty Validity

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply!

I just wanted to figure out what the cost down the road will be like for scheduled maintenance of the car as I intend to make this my daily driver. Out here in Dubai the GT 86 is significantly more expensive than a top of the range BRZ and I was curious to know whether a lower maintenance cost from Toyota is in someway linked with its higher list price (and a higher service cost overtime for the BRZ with a lower list price).

My main concern is that I should be able to afford the maintenance to keep it in mint condition as we do have some crazy summers out here and the car is a significant investment. But given how awesome some of the roads are over here its really worth it!!

    Thanks!!
