Official Subaru BRZ from the Tokyo Motor Show + 15 Pictures + Video!

Subaru just finished their Press Release from the Tokyo Motor Show, unveiling the “concept” Subaru BRZ for the first time. All of the pictures are in the pure86.com Forum, and the full the Press Release! The joint-project between Subaru and Toyota to create the world a ports car with superior steering response and driving pleasure has been blowing up the rumor mill for sometime, and now we finally have the real car. The BRZ was shown in two colors, white, pretty sure it was Aspen White, and the new WRB II (World Rally Blue). The “Ultra-Low Center of Gravity Package” has an exterior that was designed to convey the fun-to-drive character of the car, while maintaing the Subaru appearance. The interior features a smaller steering wheel for sports car maneuverability, a center tach, with digital read out of the speedometer, and a very low seating position in well bolstered seats. The “Pure Handling Delight” has an exclusively designed, for low center of gravity, 2.0L Boxer four cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 151 lb/ft of torque. The horizontally opposed engine has square for and stroke of 86 X 86 mm, and “D-4S” direct injection and port injection technology from Toyota. A 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic with “S mode” and “M mode”, sport and manual, paddle shifters with automatic downshifting blipping control,  gives the driver the ultimate sports car feeling. Weighing in at 2,689 pounds, the BRZ has a light weight yet rigid frame structure, aluminum hood, and extra safety design for pedestrian protection. The 2+2 sports car has a wheelbase of 101 inches, is 170 inches long, 70 inches wide and 52 inches tall. Front struts and rear double wishbone suspension are connected to 17″ aluminum wheels with 215/45R tires. To complete the package is equipped electronic stability controls, that can be switched off, for driving pleasure and safety.
