Scion FR-S owners are feeling neglected since Toyota 86 and GT86 owners in Japan are able to easily purchase TRD products for their new toys. Subaru BRZ owners are feeling even more neglected since there is no word of STI parts coming to the states anytime soon. Well, Scion owners are getting a glimpse of what performance parts will be available to factory tune their FR-S with this announcement from Toyota Racing Development, TRD.
Here is a description of the first product release: “The race-tested TRD performance dual exhaust delivers a deeper and more resonant engine sound that enhances your FR-S’s presence and appearance. Crafted with precision welds for a jewel-like appearance, the TRD exhaust is constructed entirely of stainless steel and features a polished-finished muffler with a double-walled, wide-diameter slant-cut exhaust tip and rolled edge. With a TRD stamped logo on the tip and increase in performance, the dual exhausts adds to the FR-S’s street cred.” They don’t specify if TRD exhaust is a cat back system, but you can easily see the center entry into the rear muffler, which is different from the factory set up and implies it is indeed a cat back system.
The original blog post reports that the exhaust system will retail for $999.00 and will be available at dealers by September 28th, 2012.
Also, do you notice anything else in this picture? What about the red sway bar and springs!
